Rottweilers Puppies - Description
Power, endurance and agility of Rottweilers are clearly observable throughout the robust and sturdy build. They have a well-developed muscular system and heavy skeleton. The length of the body (25 to 27 inches) slightly exceeds the height (22 to 24 inches). Pure Rottweilers show about a 9 to 10 proportion between the body length and the height at the
withers. Male dogs are a little bigger than bitches.
Head is medium sized; ears are positioned at a considerable distance away from each other, which increases the visual breadth of the head. A profile view of the forehead contour reveals a slight curvature. Ears are triangular and pendant and, when alert, they sink to the level of the skull. Eyes are preferred dark brown and almond shaped. Muzzle is broad, slightly thinning out toward the nose, which, in turn, is always black. Lips are also black; the pigmentation of the inner mouth is dark.
Forequarters are broad and roomy; legs are heavy-boned and muscular and they are set well apart providing reliable support to the weighty chest. Pasterns of the legs are strong and almost perpendicular to the ground. Hindquarters are mostly a replicate the forequarters, thus balancing the structure of the body; but the hind feet are a bit longer than that of the front feet. Both hind and front paws are well padded.
Coat is dense and straight, short on the head and on the muzzle. 90% of the body is black and the undercoat is mostly gray. There should be clearly outlined brown markings, which should occupy no more than 10 % of the body. Each eye is marked with a spot right above; the sides and the bottom of the muzzle are also brown-stripped. Both front and hind legs should also have clear and discernible markings.
